Whenever you turn on Sports Center, you bound to hear a story about how some athlete is unhappy with their contract. How they feel they are under paid. Are these people serious.......

By no means am I saying that their chosen profession is an easy one. You have to be in top physical condition to be a professional athlete, (unless you are a major league pitcher...), You are away from your family quite often, and there is always the risk of a career ending injury. However, to sit there and tell us that the 8 million dollars that you are going to make this year isn't enough..... have you lost your mind????

I can name at least three professions that in our country are most definitely under paid. The first would be our teachers. These people help mold the minds of our future leaders, yet the starting salary for a teacher in the city of Philadelphia is somewhere around $32,000 per year, an athlete that makes 8 million a year is making more in one day than some teachers are in a year. The second profession would be police officers. These are the men and women that try to keep the streets safe for our children to play in. Their starting salary is in the neighborhood of $42,000 per year (Philadelphia), and they may be getting shot at! Finally the third profession, and some may say the most important, is our Armed Forces. These people put their lives on the line day in and day out so that you and I can enjoy the many freedoms that we have in the U.S. In 2006 if you were a Staff Sgt with less than 2 years of experience at that level, your yearly salary was less than $22,000! News flash to all athletes, this is what it means to be under paid!

Before these athletes come out and say that they are under paid, maybe they should stop and think about a couple of things. 1) What about those people that I mentioned above, they definitely have a tougher job than we do...
And 2) We are getting paid a lot of money to play a GAME that we played for free most of our childhood, for no other reason than the love of the game!

Everybody else has one...

I have noticed that almost every site you go to on the web there is a blog. Everyone has one, even professional athletes. (That's where they say the things they can't say to the reporters, like saying it on their blog makes them immune to the consequences of their statements...). So I decided, since everyone else has one, why not me!

I'm not sure what I may write in my entries, it could be about Web Design or it could be about my local sports teams, (Philadelphia). I guess that's okay when it comes to blogging, you don't have to stick with one main topic.

Well,I guess I should introduce myself so that all of you will now a bit about the "author" of this blog. My name is Drew Stoerrle, I am the Owner/Head Designer of Crush Grafix. We are a Philadelphia, PA based Web Design Firm. I started the business in 2006 out of my home. The company has grown since '06, we now have included Search Engine Optimization and Web Hosting in our list of services we provide.

I am looking forward to communicating with all of you through this blog and I hope that you will find my entries at least somewhat entertaining.

Talk with you soon.....
